Introduction to Precious Metal Clay - Fine Silver Jewelry

Love creating beautiful silver jewellery, but don’t want to solder?  Precious Metal Clay (PMC) might just be the jewellery medium for  you!

Precious Metal Clay is a fabulously creative material developed in the early 1990’s in Japan.   PMC consists of microscopic particles of pure silver powder and a water-soluble, non-toxic, organic binder that burns off during firing.   Students in this class will learn the basics of PMC in this one day class, including; how to form, texture, cut, dry, and finish a pair of earrings and a pendant or a few charms.  Students will learn both kiln and torch firing the clay.  When fired, the organic compound is burned off, leaving 99.9% fine silver.
