Intro to PMC and DIY Projects

This is a class for both new PMC artisans and those who have worked with PMC but have a certain project that they may need some guidance on.  I will review the basics, forming or rolling out the clay, molds and shapes, and also the firing and finishing techniques including the torch firing method.  You will have enough silver to make a pendant and pair of earrings.  Some students would like having access to my help so lets have some fun with this.

Suggestions for the class: if you have botanicals or items you want to use for designs bring them.  If you want to make a mold of something, you can buy the mold material at class and we can make the mold and make a piece in the same day.  If you want more than 16 grams of PMC3 (included in the class price) let us know by October 1, so we can have enough in stock. If you have PMC3 left over from our other classes, be sure to re hydrate it before class, then you can use it for your DIY project. You can email me with questions prior to the class at

Bring your ideas, your sketches and your creativity.

Nothing to Buy Before Class!

Use of all hand and studio tools and equipment as well as the materials needed to make Hollow Form Beads are included in the class price.

Precious Metal Clay is a fabulously creative material developed in the early 1990’s in Japan.   PMC consists of microscopic particles of pure silver powder and a water-soluble, non-toxic, organic binder that burns off during firing.  When fired, the organic compound is burned off, leaving 99.9% fine silver.

Class is at Workingsilver in New Westminster, here is the link to their class page, book your seat directly with Working Silver.
